Question
hey Ralph
how much an archeologist get for his job?

Answer
Hi Sidharath,

That depends on the education.  A person with a Bachelors degree in the US is not generally considered as being sufficiently qualified to direct an excavation.  They would be the diggers and perhaps the supervisors of diggers but not the site director.  A person with a Masters degree from university in the US would have the qualifications to be a Supervisor, director of an excavation or perhaps a site director. And finally a person with a PhD would probably be a site director.  As for salaries in the US;  A digger would be in the $10 to $20 per hour range plus a stipend to cover hotel and food, a site supervisor $15 to $25 per hour plus stipend, an excavation director $15 to $25 and a site director $20 to $30 (with a PhD).

I have no idea what the market prices are in India.
