Question
this year i will pass my high school and am really interested in archeology. I want to make my career in archeology. For this which subject i should choose in the upcoming classes or in the college?

sincerely,
Sidharath

Answer
Hi Sidharath,

First of all, have you been accepted at a collage or university which has a programe in Anthropology and Archaeology?  If so, then they will have a curriculum that is required to be followed for a specific degree.  If you have not yet applied or been accepted, I may be able to help you find a uni that has anthropology/archaeology.  However, you need to select a field of interest since many unis tend to specialize.  In what part of the world are you located? India? South Asia, and do you want to study in your region or go to uni in the UK or the US?

These are things to think about.

Also, do you have a back up plan? Finding work as an archaeologist even with a more advanced degree (masters) can be difficult at times. What else can you study that would allow you to make a living if you are unable to find work as an archaeologist?  Something to consider.
