Answer
Hi Raju,

Since you are interested in Indian Archaeology, you will need to decide what areas of interest you have.  Are you interested in the early pre-history of India, including the spread of man kind from Africa?  Or perhaps the early nation states period?  Or perhaps the Mongol empire period.  Early in your career, it is not critical that you choose one but you do need to think about this.  Also you should plan for a back- up  so that if you are unable to find work as an archaeologist, that you have something to fall back on such as teaching, economics, or plumbing.  This way you can be gainfully employed while also doing archaeology when you can.

Your first step is to research the universities in India and fine one that fits your needs both educationally and financially.  If you can gain an experience at an archaeological site as a volunteer that would be a good thing to do, perhaps this summer.

I hope this helps.  Please tell me more about your interests and why you have chosen Archaeology so that I may provide further assistance.

I apologize that you did not find my response of help.  However, you did not provide a lot of information to work from.  If you provide me with more information, perhaps I can help you with greater guidance.
