Question
QUESTION: I am currently looking for colleges that focus in Mayan history. I am serving in the U.S. military at the moment and was wondering which school have this speciality, so that i can plan my career and education accordingly. Thanks for your help.

ANSWER: Hi Chance,

Since you are going for an undergrad degree, I would recommend the U of Florida system. Several schools in this system have good programs.  One of the better ones is U of Central Florida. There are others as well. But The important thing is to get a strong background in Archaeology, then specialize.

QUESTION: I appreciate your reply. Still i have one more question. In order to get a background in archaeology would you suggest going to Oklahoma University? i have heard they have a decent program there, but that's just hearsay from the office. What are your thoughts on OU's program if any? Thanks again.

Answer
Hi Chance,

Many Colleges and Universities have fair to good programs for undergrads. OU is one of the better ones along with Arizona, U of North Texas, U florida, Seaton Hall, and others. So, you have a lot to choose from.  Also the financial cost and availability of funding could make a big difference especially with the GI bill. I would apply to all and see who gives you the best package.  Of course as an instate resident, where you live can make a big difference too.
