-----Question-----
How can I find the location of the nearest exposed K-T boundry site to me? Santa Cruz, California
-----Answer-----
Hi Gene,  The closest may be in Wyoming or eastern Utah near Dinosaur Natl park.  Texas near Austin as well has some KT deposits.  However I am not aware of any near or in California.  I was told that there may be a later deposit  (65my old) from Baja but this would have been a subsea deposition.  Most deposits in CA were subsea.  Down at USD they have a "strata plaza" which depicts the strata of the area and several of the paleontologists at USD are into the study of the KT boundry.

It is out side of my area of expertise but I too find it quite interesting.

Answer
Hi Gene,  I'm not aware of an maps persay but these may exist.  I would recommend that you contact USD department of Paleontology.  They may have what you are looking for.  I've looked on line using google and altavista and did not find anything.  I am sorry but this is out of may area of expertise.
