Hi Mr Salier,
I am currently a junior in high school and I am looking at colleges.  I have decided that I want to study archaeology in college and probably pursue a career in it after college.  Do you know of any colleges that have top archaeology programs? My top choice is currently UVA, because I live in Virginia.  Do you know if that college has a good archaeology program? Thanks!

Hi Devyn,

UVA does have a program and it is considered reasonably good.  They do a lot of work in the Mid Atlantic states.  The best program in the US at the present time (for US Archaeology) is Arizona.  They have the premier program.  Other good schools include Seaton Hall, U of Penn and the U of Cal system.

What area of Archaeology do you want to study?  There are many subfields and some are better in one area then another.
