Question
Hello. I'm a junior in high school and I've always wanted to have a career in archaeology, but i'm having trouble finding a suitable college that is both affordable and nearby. Washington University in St.Louis is so far my best option. Can this school train me for the kind of field work I want to do?

Answer
Wash. Univ. in St. Louis has an outstanding program in archaeology (in its Anthropology Department).  Have a look at their webpage to see if there are faculty who share the same interests as you have (i.e. time period, geography).  When  you plan a campus visit, arrange to speak with some of these faculty.
Sincerely
John Shea
