Question
could you please tell me more about iron red stoneware slipware.i have a cheese dish(yellow)by staffordshire.
thank you.

Answer
Hi Phil,

Its a little difficult to provide information at the moment with out a bit more information.  First of all are there any markings on the base of the dish?  Secondly, what kind of yellow, bright, pastel, ??  and third, how do you know that it is iron-red stone ware?  This is typically glazed in greens and blues but has been known to come in other colors as well.  Is it marked staffordshire?  If so there should be some numerals and letters stamped into the clay before fireing.
