Question
hi am femi and i just finished my gcse and i want to go into architecture and real estate but i am not too good at art i am predominantly stronger on maths and physics which i now study at college ,i was just wondering if my poor art will affect the chance of me becoming an architect.
more so i wanted to ask you if there are other areas of architecture and real estate to do with housing that doesn't require too much art .
thanks.

Answer
You may be surprised how so many architects cannot draw well free hand.
With a computer you can do quite a bit more, even if not artistically inclined.
Drawing by hand using instruments like a parallel bar and compass, triangles, etc. is not that difficult and you will need to do some of this.
You may be stronger in business aspects and large commercial firms pay well for such a candidate.
I would suggest thinking about architectural engineering as well which relies on math and physics.
Real estate has very little to do with aesthetics.

Expertise

I am interested in the artistic and theoretical aspects of architecture and urban design/planning. I can discuss the progression of classical to modern architecture, the general stylistic and technical development, the formation of towns and cities, the background and training of architects. Ask any question relating to the profession, working with an architect, background information, etc.
