QUESTION: We are thinking of adding a deck onto our Tudor style house but haven't a clue what would look appropriate ?? Can you advise?

ANSWER: Hello Mr. Klasssen,
Your Tudor seems to be a more contemporary iteration.
I would use the same stained or painted wood for posts and the edging of the deck.
I could help you better if you indicate on what side the deck will go, presumably on the back?
If the deck is covered then heavier posts, probably 8-10" would look good to hold up a porch over the deck.
Railings can be done in a decorative spindle wood, also stained the color of the existing faux timber work.
Thank you.

QUESTION: The deck will be on the front of the house, which is the side showing in the picture. We are thinking of going left from the existing steps to past the living room window.

Answer
Is this going to be a covered or open deck?
If covered, here are some images to consider:

A little more Victorian:

This one, contemporary, has an open deck to right:

Another contemporary with brick columns and arch:

The historic Tudor style may have had open verandahs but not typically covered porches.  These were added in later revival iterations and are not common even on the front elevation.
