Question
Hi!
I have a ranch-ish style house (one level, but the garage is two levels high, so it makes the house look like it's bigger). The house is 16 years old, with pinkish brick going part way up the garage, and used in the chimney. Right now the house is pale pink with white trim. I would like to go with a medium to dark sage color for exterior walls, with near-black trim, and plum details. What do you think? do  you have other suggestions?
Thanks,
Candy

Answer
Hi Candy,

I'm not sure how the sage color will look with pinkish brick.  You may need to end up painting the brick.

You might find a quick read of this article on our website useful:

I applaud your courage to try something different too. I  would give your scheme a try. I also saw a nice scheme recently which had a sage color house, with a darker sage color trim (such as choosing a couple shades darking on the same color chip strip), then a medium/dark brown accent color for doors and windows.  It looked pretty nice and 'fresh'.

I have a feeling the brick color may be hard to work with -- if that's the case and there is not much of it - really consider painting it.
