Question
Contractors have already started applying horizontal insulated vinyl siding installation on my two story english tudor style home. It is good quality siding but I had requested vertical siding to maintain the integrity of the architectural design. Will putting a horizontal look on english tudor style affect the marketability and appeal of the home?  I need to let them know by 8 a.m. 7/14/09.

Hi Sharon,

My feeling is that since Tudor houses never really had vinyl siding, that your house is probably an interpretation of a tudor, so to some degree I think that allows you to bend the rules.

But if you don't think it will look good, then don't let the contractor put it up.  You won't be able to change it easily in the future, so it's important to get it right.
