Question
Hi i'm about to go to class 11.
Is it fine if i do architecture without taking physics, chemistry and maths at 10+2? i am interested in taking commerce with maths in 11th. Will it be okay to take up architecture after that?

Hi Simran,

I'm not sure I understand the specifics of your curriculum, but I can generally answer that having a good foundation in math is pretty key to being a good architect. I actually didn't think this as much in school, but in practice we are constantly dealing with data, managing it, and presenting it clearly. Most of that data has to deal with numbers, areas, cu yds/meters, occupant counts . . . the building code is full of calculations you will need to make.  If either track will result in a good math foundation, then do what you think is best for your specific situation.
