QUESTION: Hi, I am a SGT in the US Military currently enrolled in a few psychology classes and i was wondering if you could answer some interview questions for me.
1) What is your Profession and what are your Credentials?
2) What is your current position?
3) How long for questions 1 and 2?
4) What is the most frustrating/challenging part of your profession?
5) Why did you choose your profession?
6) If you could do it all over again, would you?
7) In your specific position, what factors other than purely clinical ones drive your decisions to make Dx, prescribe medications, and render other treatments?
8) How do you assess for mental health diagnosis?
Can you walk me through your assessment?
9) What social skills/strengths do you posses that make you good at your job?
What is your weakness?
10) Do you prefer group or individual sessions and why?
11) What is the hardest part of your job?
12) When you find yourself relating too closely, how do you decide how much to self-disclose?
13) (Prescribers) are you conservative/liberal with prescriptions?
(Non Prescribers) how do you decide when to refer to a prescriber?
14) Do you have any type of patients that stick out the most?
15) What are your feelings regarding the current level of drugs prescribed, and/or developments in psychopharmacology? (for example---do you ever get the feeling that the drugs being developed are just masking Sx)
16) How much does legal liability drive your clinical decisions?
17) Can you keep your personal values/opinions out of the session?
18) Do you refer patients to alternative treatments? (THC, Spirituality, etc)
19) Placement prospects for internship and beyond in the field. (is your profession doing a good job of meeting demand, while providing newly trained SW/Psychiatrists, etc with good paying jobs?)
20) Are you involved in any research or do you want to be involved in any particular research?
