I'm a graduating Mechanical Engineering major. I use to study architecture in high school and most of my previous job is architecture related. I chose to get a bachelors degree in engineering but I like architecture as well. Since it's gonna be a few years before i can qualify to take the PE license exam, I'm thinking about getting a masters in Architecture during that time span.
Is it possible to get into an architectural masters program with and engineering degree? Or Do I have to start from the basics and get the architectural bachelors?
Answer Hi Andy:
You should be able to find a program where you can jump right in and get a masters of Architecture, without first having to get a bachelors of Architecture. I belive you should be able to get your MArch in about 3 years, since you have probably already had many courses that will carry credit into your masters program. But of course, you should check with the schools you apply to for the specifics.
Good Luck!
