Hi,
We have a 1912 two story home with a generous side yard but is tight to the neighbors on the other.  Would it be possible to lift the house, pour a new foundation and move it over about 4 feet?

Lisa - thanks for your question!

It's possible - tricky, but possible.  The question is whether the house can be moved high enough, or far enough away to easily build the new/expanded foundation.

The building next to ours was recently moved about 8' on a tight property, but they were able to move the building completely out of the way of the new foundation work.

It's worth a call to several house movers to find out!
