Question
we will be traveling to Argentina the first week in November.  we  will be spending 1 1/2 days in calafate area.  we were told perito moreno glacier is the most beautiful,...

my question, which is the best tours to experience this area?

Answer
Hello!
The best tours are:
1)Tour Perito Moreno Glacier and Nautic Safari El Calafate Argentina
Tour Description
This boat tour departs from port Bajo de las Sombras, inside the National Park, and sails along Brazo Chico on Argentino lake toward the southern wall of the Perito Moreno glacier.

For almost an hour you will sail along the 70 mts/210 feet wall getting an amazing view of the falling ice and a superb perspective of the entire glacier

2)Minitrekking Perito Moreno
The tour starts at the Bajo de las Sombras pier which is located about 3 km before the Perito Moreno Glacier wall. The boat crosses the Rico branch and the group gets off to start the trekking. Tourist are divided into small groups and assigned a Guide. Crampons are provided for all group members. The trek lasts about 2 hours over the Glacier among ice peaks, towers, turquoise blue cracks and small lagoons. It is an easy walk. We recommend wearing trekking shoes, thick socks, long trousers, jacket, sweater, sun glasses, sun block, gloves and hat. The tour is no recommended for children under 10 or people with disabilities.

3)Tour National Park Torres del Paine (Chile)
The tour departs from your Hotel in El Calafate and reaches Torres del Paine National Park after 3 hours. During the morning the vehicle will take you along trails for sightseeing. You can also do short trekkings to nearby natural attractions. An outdoor lunch is provided by the tour staff. If the weather is bad, lunch will be served at one of the Park´s refugios. After lunch you will visit Lago Sarmiento de Gamboa & Laguna Azul. From there you will get views of Las Torres, Saltos del Río Paine, Lakes Nordenskjold & Pehoe, Salto Grande. Then there will be a short trekking at El Mirador de los Cuernos. The tour continues at the Centro de Interpretación, and there is another short trekking at Lake Grey & Glaciar Grey. Trekkings have a low level of difficulty and the tour is suitable for average travelers with no training. The level of difficulty and length of trekkings can be increased upon request. In the late afternoon the vehicle heads back to El Calafate arriving around at 9 pm at your Hotel. Days: monday, Wednesday and Friday al 7 am

Regards
Fabiana
