Question
I have been thinking about making a move to South America for 6 months to a year and I have a few questions. I definitely want to be near the beach but also near some kind of civilization. It also must be safe. Do you recommend a certain country or city? I was thinking Argentina. Do you have any idea what the cost of living may be without working for that amount of time? I would also probably like to travel within South America some as well while I'm there.

You must consider that we have beaches but not very near from Buenos Aires.The best places (beaches) are CARILO; and PINAMAR Both are 4 hours from Buenos Aires and both are nice but only in summer .On the rest of the year there are a little bit boring.I am not an expertise in Uruguay ,I go there like a tourist and I think that if you want to go to  a very nice beach you must go to Punta del Este .Furthermore you should think that Punta del Este also in winter is like a little town.I don't know where are you from ,because if you like a big cities ,with nightlife ,museum etc Buenos Aires is the best in South America.
In order at the cost of living depend what do you want to do .
Please write me again and explain me if you want to rent an apartment ,or live in a hotel ,if you want to eat in restaurants all the time or not etc.Please explain me that and I will try to help you
