Question
I suppose its a general question related to all travel but since I like argentina and would want to travel there someday can you tell me what happens when a person overstays thier visa? if a person just wanted to ' go off the grid ' in another country...do the authorites go looking for such people? what if a person simply doesnt want to leave...what are the options legally?

Answer
Hi!  I really have never tried that but you can always extend your visa and I believe that would be done at the Police Station (not sure but know it can be done).

Don't think they will come looking for you but I would always try and stay legal.  Really, don't think of staying in another country unless you are legally there.  South America is not like USA and you might end up in jail.

Seriously, always have the proper paperwork. Kathy

I have been to Argentina many times and the last in 2007. Have visited, IGU Falls, Mendosa, Northern parts of Argentina (Salta). I also do volunteering for Peru/Ecuador/Chile/Brazil. Just never took the time to sign up for Argentina but now having been to more areas, feel I could help those that want to travel there. Kathy
