Question
its our first time traveling where is safe to stay and visit in buenos aires and when is the best time to go? any tips and precautions to look out for?And what would be the best use of our money airlines etc.we live in  nyc?

Answer
Hi!  Just before November is low season and that (double check me on that) is a good time to go since weather is fine but hotel prices are lower (going into Summer).  If you are going to other places than Buenos Aires, look into Aerolinas Argentina.  You might get through fares to other cities, like Iguassu then booking it separately.  Also, when traveling by air inside Argentina, you do not have much weight allowence but traveling into the country on their airline, you have extra weight allowed to other destinatations within the country.

Bring dollars and you can exchange them there.  Be sure that none have writting or rips on them since they do not accept them, even at the bank.  I always bring a bunch of $1.00 bills and taxi money in dollars so I do not exchange anything in USA.

You really need to get a travel book on Argentina from the libary or just buy one.  Lonely Planet is a good one, especially for budget travel.

Hope this helps a little.  Kathy

I have been to Argentina many times and the last in 2007. Have visited, IGU Falls, Mendosa, Northern parts of Argentina (Salta). I also do volunteering for Peru/Ecuador/Chile/Brazil. Just never took the time to sign up for Argentina but now having been to more areas, feel I could help those that want to travel there. Kathy
