Argentina/B.A. to Iguazu

Question
Cintia - I am traveling to Argentina for the first time in April with my wife. We only have limited time and wish to visit Iquazu Falls for one night and the better part of two days. We have made a hotel reservation. I have also been trying to make air reservations and found that US Citizens must pay almost 500$ for a round trip. I found a travel agent, YesTravel.Net that offers considerable savings (about 150$ per ticket)making the cost closer to 250$. They are based in Miami. I have 20 more hrs to close the deal. First, do you know if they are legitimate and second should I be investigating another way. Thanks for your help in advance. Rick

Answer
Dear Rick,

Thank you for your question.

In response to your query, the first thing you should find out is which airline you would be flying to Iguazu. Aerolineas Argentinas is the biggest company in the country and the cost of the round trip ticket for non residents is $595.68 pesos (about USD 205.00) per person. If you can get a round trip ticket for USD 150.00 then it must be another airline, like Southern Winds or American Falcon. I personally recommend Aerolineas Argentinas, simply because it is more reliable in terms of punctuality and it has more daily flights to/from Iguazu.
Honestly I don't know about the firm you have found because it is based in Miami so I guess you should check if it has a license number like all registered companies should have and contact the organization/institution that is in charge of controlling the travel agencies in USA.
I hope this information helps you, and maybe if you don't feel safe working with that company you can continue checking over the internet and see if you can find a firm that you feel more comfortable with.

Best regards,
