Question
Hi, I'm really upset because I didn't read your opinion about Lancaster Hotel before, I payed more than $20.00 per night, if I only new before... well there's nothing I can do now. What I want to know is how far is Lancaster Hotel from Castelar Htl. and if the second one is really as good as my travel agent said...
Thanks for your help...
Regards from Venezuela.

Answer
Dear Magda,

Thank you for your email.

I have written many responses so I don't know where you have read my opinion about Lancaster Hotel but anyway, any reliable travel agent should provide you with accurate advice on the hotels. The problem of working with foreign travel agents is that unless they have been to Buenos Aires and inspected the hotels, everything they will tell you will be based on the star rating of the hotels and the photos they can see on the websites. Unfortunately, both of them are misleading because many hotels in Argentina are "overrated" and also the photos you can see on the Internet are not always real or may not correspond to the room you will get.
Regarding your query, Castelar Hotel is very old and definitely needs renovating. It used to be a luxurious hotel, but this was several decades ago. Also, please note that the area where it is located is no longer among the best ones. For Hotel Castelar I believe you shouldn't pay more than USD 35-40 per night. Just to give you an idea, a good hotel in a safe and convenient location won't cost less than USD 70.00 per night.
