Question
Hello Cintia,

My friend and I are planning to travel around in Argentina for half a year. We really want to go to Antarctica as well. Do you know the prices of a sort of cruise ? We are backpackers !
We'ld also like to fly from Argentina to Cuba. Do you know the price of the flight ?

THank you,
Jess

Answer
Dear Jess,
Thank you for your question. I apologize I wasn't able to reply sooner, as I was out of the city on a last minute business trip.
Regarding your query, first of all it is important to point out that if you are planning to visit the Antarctica, you should consider visiting the country during our summer, i.e. from December till March. The trip to the Antarctica is indeed expensive but I don't know the exact prices so I recommend you contact a travel agent to find out about the costs.
During summer there are cruises that leave from Buenos Aires and go all the way down the Patagonia, some go to the Antarctica but others don't, and then some end in Ushuaia or may go through the Cape of Horn all the way up to Valparaiso, Chile. The whole trip from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso takes 2 weeks.
These are some websites that you can find useful:

www.cruiseone.com (cruises)
www.aerolineas.com.ar (Aerolineas Argentinas)
wwww.cubana.com.cu (Cubana Airline)
www.turismo.gov.ar (Argentina's tourism board)

I hope you find this information useful.
Best regards,
Cintia

Expertise

I was born in Argentina and have lived ever since so I can answer all kinds of questions about my country. I have also visited other countries and that has given me a wider perspective which enables me help foreigners in a better way. I have travelled along Argentina, from the north to the south and have been to almost its 22 provinces. I have also worked for a travel agency in the inbound tourism department. I enjoy being a hostess very much and feel willing to assist foreigners in the best possible way.

Experience

Have travelled a lot along the country. I´ve been in charge of the inbound tourism department at a travel agency. I worked in Japan as a volunteer for a culture exchange organization, giving lectures about Argentina.
