Question
i want to get to the falls at iguazu and would prefer to fly.
i can get a return from AA for $US212 if i book by tomorrow. Is this good value?

i ask because when i was in Peru i pre-booked air fares to cuzco and puno only to find that various tour operators in Lima were offering packages which could be bought two days before travel at less than 50% of the pre-booked tickets.

also can i travel to asuncion in paraguay by road via foz de iguazu in brazil using a british passport without having to get a visa for brazil please?

Answer
Hi:

USD 212 is the maximum you should pay. However, there are deals available locally, from ARG (formerly LAPA). Two weeks-and-something ago I paid 175 pesos, which was 100 USD.
I would say it's good to expect the prices you see, but not in dollars, but pesos, whoch is now averaging 2 pesos for 1 dollar. You can consult directly online in airline's chat room http://08107777arg.com/ if you speak spanish.

When in Buenos AIres, you may try also visiting ASATEJ travel agency on Florida 835, 3rd floor. They have good deals. In any case, if you use aerolineas argentinas directly on spot, you should not pay more than USD 200 anyway. But check out ARG, they have city ticket office at C.Pelegrini.

To get to Foz do Iguazu, you should not need a visa. However, this information is ONE YEAR OLD. I crossed to Foz on a bus, with no one stopping me at all or controlling, either on way there or back. But from the available information, if you cross for one day to Foz or to Paraguay with no visa required. But this can change any moment. Especially as now Argentina is trying to protect more its borders in the area of Tres Fronteras.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any further questions you may have.
