Question Hi...I live in Riverside, Ca and would like to visit Sedona for a couple of days in July. (is that crazy heat wise??) with the price of gas, I was wondering if you could tell me the best way to travel. My main interest when there is to visit the cliff dwellings. Thank you Lori
Answer Hi Lori,
July is our hottest month but if I remember Riverside's temperature correctly it should be somewhat similar. We generally run about 95-105 during that time, we also might have monsoons during the day which only last for an hour or so and generally cool things down.
I used to go back and forth to LA a lot. Take 10 to the 101 in Phoenix and head north until you reach Hwy 17 which heads north to Flagstaff ( and Sedona). Flagstaff is about 40 miles north and 300 ft higher in elevation. It also have some great cliff dwellings and and usually runs in the mid-80's temperature-wise. Look for Walnut Canyon online for more information.
I can answer all questions regarding Sedona Arizona, areas of interest to visitors, hotels,
restaurants, annual events, arts organizations, tourism, galleries, shopping, outdoor
activites, hiking, mountain biking, real estate market, history.
Experience
I have been a Sedona resident for 15 years. Heavily involved in the community both
personally and professionally. I have covered/coordinated with press from various media
outlets.
Publications Red Rock News, Red Rock Review, Kudos. I have had press releases picked up regionally.
