Arizona/Vacation

Question
We want to visit the Grand Canyon in the spring of 2008 and would like to stay in a vacation rental cabin or condo rather than a hotel.  Can you tell me my best option in finding a rental in a secluded, woodsy area?  How far is Flagstaff from the Canyon?  What airport would I fly into (coming from Maryland).  I guess my best bet would be to rent a vehicle?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Answer
I'm not a vacation expert, so you may want to do some more research, but as a resident I can tell you this: There a few commercial cabin rentals, Comfi Cottages comes to mind. Vacation condo rentals: Fairfield Resort. Also, a number of fine bed and breakfasts exist: Inn at 410 is the best. If you want to be in a secluded woodsy area, try the Oak Creek Canyon area south of Flagstaff. You can fly into the Flagstaff airport on a connection from Phoenix. Rent a car.
