Arizona/need place to meet someone in phoenix
Expert: Judy Hedding - 9/7/2007
QuestionI am flying into phx and need to get picked up by some friends on westbound I-10, west of I-17. I will need to take a ?taxi or bus? from phx airport to some exit on I-10 west. Do you know of a truck stop or bar on I-10 westbound which is not too far from the airport, but west of I-17? I may have to wait several hours for them to show up. Also, any advice on transportation from phx to this exit?
thanks,

AnswerHi Drex,
First of all, I gotta say--some nice friends you have! They won't drive an extra 20 minutes to pick you up at the airport?? Oh, well!
I don't know about truck stops or bars there. It's an industrial area, not too pleasant, but I assume you'll be arriving in the daytime. There's a Wal-Mart Supercenter at 75th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.

They always have a McDonald's or other fast food place, and I doubt you'd be bothered too much if you bought an occasional Coke or order of fries. Hey, there's probably a hair salon in that place--you could get a trim while you wait!
Route 13 goes from Sky Harbor Airport along Buckeye Road to the west, past I-17. Lower Buckeye Road (not the same as Buckeye Road) is a couple miles south of I-10.

It looks like you could stay on one bus line, the #13 Buckeye Route, from Sky Harbor Airport and get there. It's about half a block away from SWIFT Trucking at 75th Ave and Lower Buckeye.

Here's info on bus fare:

Have a safe trip.
