About Judy Frayne
Expertise I specialise in the mixing of oils. Every problem has a different solution depending on the underlying causes.A simple headache could be caused for a number of different reasons. Tracking down the origins of a problem is the first step. I can then advise on the correct oils to use,how to buy them and the methods with which they can be applied.
I can also recommend other complimentary techniques for self help with many physical and emotional problems.
Feel free to ask about:
Skin disorders - eczema, psoriasis, atheletes foot
Muscular aches and pains - arthritis, neck and shoulder tension.
Painkilling - headaches, chronic pain, backache.
Digestive disorders - IBS, constipation.
Stress - depression, anxiety, grief, anger, concentration.
Medicine cupboard - bites, stings, cuts, bruises, burns.
Babies and childrens - tummy aches, colds, sleep problems.
And many more !
Experience I have been a qualified aromatherapist for twelve years, working in my own premises as well as mobile visiting. My clients have been varied - ranging from babies to the elderly and sadly, the terminally ill. Whilst many clients simply wish to use aromatherapy to promote a feeling of well being and keep themselves relaxed and healthy - I have had much experience of clients with specific needs. These are just as wide ranging - from skin disorders to back problems on the physical side - to the emotional and spiritual side of things and problems such as coping with grief and bereavement or helping combat anger and stress.
I use a mixture of techniques including reflexology. I believe that aromatherapy is a very simple and natural method of self help that can compliment conventional techniques. I am passionate about passing on safe and sensible advice so that more people feel confident to try aromatherapy for themselves.
Aromatherapy is not always a cure - but it's potency should never be underestimated. It can help, it can be life changing - and it's certainly worth trying

Subject: Question
Question Hello, how are you going? My name is Christina and I live in Australia. At the moment I have got hayfever and red itchy eyes, and I think I have sinusitis as well, as my face is all puffy around my sinuses and under my eyes, and it all makes me feel very tired. I don't like to take tablets because my Mum and my sister have both got schizophrenia and every day they take all these millions of tablets each, and I get scared when I see that as I don't want to end up like them ,just guzzling tablets all day. I was just wondering if there are any aromatherapy things I could do to help me with my problem. Thank you so very much for your help, I do appreciate it a lot. Kind Regards, from Christina
Answer Hi Christina - thanks for your question. I haven't had much experience of hayfever and can only really recommend oils that might cool and soothe the puffy areas, and oils that would help to clear the sinuses. Although I would certainly agree that you want to steer clear of taking tablets if you can - you may find that a simple anti-histamine solves most of the problem. And presumably you wouldn't be taking it for ever. Here are some formulae for you...
For the face -
Make a spritzer of water with a couple of drops of Roman Chamomile and Lavender in at least 50ml water. Shake it well before use and spray on to the face as often as you like, taking care that you close your eyes tightly. Replenish with fresh mixture every day.
Or
You can put neat lavender oil (4-10 drops) onto damp cotton wool pads and dab gently around the red puffy areas, again, taking care that none gets into the actual eye.
To clear the sinuses -
Two drops each of Lavender, Tea tree and Peppermint oils in hot water in a burner ( over a nightlite).
Neat lavender applied to the temples and over the bridge of the nose will also help clear the sinuses.
Neat lavender on your pillow at night, and on a hankie in the day time will help. Lavender can make you drowsy, so if you are working you can add in one drop of peppermint to keep you awake. But don't put peppermint on the face, it's too harsh.
I will now come to the subject of stress - I generally find that everyone has their weak spots and when they get stressed, those weak spots really play up. I am guessing that you have a certain amount of stress, which may be aggravating your weak area - in this case the sinuses. Depending on how stressed you think you are ( and I find that most people underestimate this) I would suggest you try some lavender and chamomile in the bath. A shower is not quite the same for relaxing. You will need to dilute about three drops each of lavender and chamomile into an unperfumed bubble bath or shower cream before you use it. Mix it in well and don't use any other soap or perfumed creams etc at the same time. To really treat yourself, three drops of Ylang Ylang would be lovely to mix into this concoction. Give yourself some time out and just relax. As stress levels go down and you feel happier, the problems will begin to go away.Use the oils as often as you like.
Please let me know how you get on - good luck !
Best wishes
Judy
