Question
Dear Rachel,

I read your reply...I was hoping you would be so kind as to let me in on the all-purpose sprays using essential oils.

Hope All is Well,

Don

Answer
Dear Don,

I would be delighted to assist you in creating an all-purpose spray solution.  This can be accomplished with only a few essential oils.   Creating your own cleaning solution is not only  economical but will give you peace of mind in knowing exactly what you are using.  There is currently a battle being waged in Washington, DC right now as a few forward thinking Senators and Representatives are pressuring manufacturers to come clean with their ingredients.  With over 80,000 chemicals for use in manufacturing the legislation would force manufacturers to fully disclose all of the chemicals used.

Until then, thankfully we have essential oils to rely upon.  Almost every "green," cleaning product currently on the market incorporates essential oils into their formulation.

Generally essential oils like Lavender, Tea Tree, Lemon, Lemongrass, Orange, Thyme, Oregano,Peppermint, Spearmint, Clove and Cinnamon are the most utilized.   Although there are several others to work with including ingredients like d-limonene and terpenes which are by-products of essential oils.   It would be helpful if you let me know what quantity you would like to create and which oils you have at your disposal. Based on this I can suggest a formula for you to replicate.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Be well,

Rachel

For the past 15 years I have been working in the field of Complementary Alternative Medicine with a focus on plant based medicines. Through my educational and supply company, eoilco laboratories, llc., I have trained practitioners from every level of western and non-traditional medicine. Currently, I lecture at Miami Dade College, Barry University and the University of Miami. I have been afforded the opportunity of working with medical professionals throughout the United States. I have also developed protocols using plant based medicines; essential oils and herbs. The use of Plant Based Medicines is experiencing a resurgence in many aspects of patient care and preventive medicine as well. My background and degree is in Health Psychology, I realized years ago as a student at FIU that essential oils had powerful and quantifiable affects on the human body. Research is now showing all of this and more. From the classroom to the lab I have found that today's educated consumer no longer distinguishes between good for your body and good for your soul. Driven by over 70 million consumers, health and well-being is a holistic movement that strives for equilibrium between family, work and self. The new wellness is balance. Currently, I am on a mission to change how my city, Miami is being cleaned.
