Answer
A happy new year to you.
Yes by all means, do hold on to it.
There are indeed calendar collectors out there but they are seeking very rare subjective or indeed 'company' based pieces first. Those for instance which were given away for advertising purposes.
For instance, 'Coca Cola' would be an obvious choice and very collectible, so too would be sports orientated callendars from baseball clubs and so forth. These are the sort of callendars with most collectible appeal.

There are books on the subject too, I am sure so check out Millers for leads and perhaps do a word search using ABE BOOKs on the net.Use the keyword option. You never know what it will turn up!.

It is probably, as you say, more valuable to keep it as a pleasing image than for 'real' financial value.
You can always do your homework and make various searches for similar items such as yours on Ebay. They come up time to time and you will see the sorts of values they make.

If you find any old Confederate money or paintings rolled up in the walls of that old house of yours, keep them too!
Its strange isn't it, what people from our past walled up years ago?

One of the last Stradivarius violins found intact in the world was hidden in the wall of an old house!

Good luck to you both.
