Question
i have a piture in my possesion it is a portrait of a lady dims are as follows 221/2/18inches it is supposed to be of lady hamilton by goege romney but i dont know i would love somone to help me find out and would give a share to any one who can help

Answer
Hello Patrick - and thank you for your question.  If you did, indeed, have an original oil painting of Lady Hamilton by George Romney, you would be a very rich person indeed.  Most of the society portraits by Romney are in art galleries around the world -- so I think you probably have a print or a copy.  Here's a link to the Walker Art Gallery which has information on the artist, including links to his paintings.  http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/walker/exhibitions/romneyg/
If an independent fine art dealer can verify that 'your' Romney is authentic, then the dealer can also suggest a market and a value.
Cheers
