Art History - History of art as progress or change?

Expert: Samil Molina - 6/12/2009

Question
Is the history of art essentially one of 'progress'or 'change'?

Answer
Thanks for your question.  This is a matter of opinion as far as I'm concerned, so I'll give you my opinion.

Progress or regression is change regardless.  Speaking on technique in art, it has definitely progressed through history.

Hopefully I answered your question.

S. Molina
