Questionwhat is the title of a painting of a man crying uncontrollably, clinging to the dead body of his sweetheart? it is somewhat 'classical' but i use that term loosely. maybe done in last 500 years. there is also an old man in the painting (with a beard if i remember it right). it looks very tragic but very beautiful.
AnswerWell, this is going to be hard to pinpoint without anymore specific information. I'm guessing it was done during the late renaissance because you say it was done in the last 500 years...but without knowing what time period, it will be extremely difficult to help you. I'm going to make a guess that the subject matter is Greek mythology, and it seems like a very humanist painting, the first person that comes to mind is Titian, also Giorgione and Bellini. Look into those three artists first, that is, of course, if the painting you are describing is from the renaissance era. Otherwise, anything later than the 1600's I wouldn't be able to help you. I hope this will guide you in the right direction
