Question
I need some information on Matisse's Interior, Flowers and Parakeets  1924.  I have contacted the Baltimore Museum of Art where it is housed but they could not give me any analysis of the painting. I was wondering if you had any info on this painting. I am a volunteer in the public schools in suburban Phila.   Thank you

Answer
The library and bookstore are the places to look for this kind of information.

See if your library has any catalogues or books cataloging the collection of the Baltimore Museum of Art.  Alternatively, doesn't that museum have a website with pictures of its collection and descriptions of the paintings?

but your best bet is going to the local public library to see what thy have on their shelves about Matisse, Modern Art, Fauves, Fauvism, and then checking the Library's online catalogue and requesting the books that look helpful.

Philadelphia would house a tremendous main library, so go directly there.
