Question
I am writing an essay for a fine art degree on the influence of Islamic Art on the West (European art, etc.). Do you have any suggestions of sources (books, websites, articles, etc.) that may be of use to me?
Thank you

Answer
Hello Alan
Your best source will be your tutor .. otherwise, there are reputable art historical sites on the internet - my favourite is http://witcombe.sbc.edu/ARTHLinks.html which could open up new avenues for you to research.  Almost any authoritative writing on the Byzantine will surely help, although I have no specific recommendations.  Sorry if I sound a little vague, but without being involved in the scope or your essay - what eras or artefacts you are looking at to discuss the influences (or what fine art degree you are taking) it's a little difficult to know at what level to 'pitch' my response.
Good luck
