Question
I am researching the original historical moment, the cultural and social meaning of Creation. Also what the work signified to the artist, the patron, and the audiences who originally saw it.  Do you have any suggested resources?

Thanks so much---what a wonderful thing you do here--volunteer your time to help others learn about art---wow! impressive (and lucky for me--I live in a very small town with few resources).
Thanks.

Answer
Greetings Sue:

I would very much like to help, but I'm afraid I need a clearer question.  What "original historical moment"?

Which depiction of "Creation" holds your interest?  Or do you mean the idea of representing Creation?

[If I do not know how to answer your question, I will gladly point you to resources that should help by providing an answer or, at least, context that will allow you to find the answer(s).]

Best wishes, sincerely,
J Heuman
