Question
Hello, how are you?  I'm not sure if you can help me or not but if you can't, maybe...hopefully, you can point me in the right direction.   I am trying to find information on a painting I have had in my posession for about 20 or so years.  I would like to learn when it was originated and who the artist was/is. I have tried to research this painting at various times over the years and haven't had much luck. I will try to describe it as best as I can and am also including links so that you can see pictures.    It is 34" long and 26 1/2" wide (in a frame) and is rough to the touch, you can actually see the brush strokes.  It is signed in the bottom left corner but it is really hard to make it out.....it almost looks foreign...maybe japanese or chinese??  There are 3 different pictures ~ the links are below........

Any insight you could give would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance for you time.

Answer
I am afraid i cannot help you much Diana. I am not familiar with the artist or painting. I recommend that you take it to an art dealer who specialises in Asian art, if possible. The painting is quite nice, if not quite to my taste but it is incredibly hard to speak of it without seeing it 'in the flesh'.

Thank you for the description, yet i am afraid i cannot help, Calum.
