Im studing abroad in Rome during January, and an writing a research paper on Claude Lorrain's "Rest on the Flight into Egypt". I'm having trouble finding any good information about it...history, background, style, etc.
Any knowledge/advice?

While you are there I would contat the Gemäldegalerie, Dresden to get inforamtion on the Provance of the piece. Most Galleries are pleased to help but it just tkes time for them to gather all information. Let them know you are studying the piece. Dont forget to look to his fellow artists. Find out who he was influenced by in general and who was his rival. Also remember to look into the social and economic standing of the society at the time.
