Art History/Sculpters - need to know if piece has any value

Question
Hi Sharon.  I know what you listed as your expertise, but perhaps you can help me anyway (or you know a colleague that has the answer).  My mother has a signed, bronze sculpture from an artist named Coulon.  We have had it in our family for 30 years....I don't know where the family acquired it from.  I am trying to search (on the net) for this sculpter, but am having difficulty.
My question is: have you ever heard of this sculpter and how/where would I go to check the value/appraise this piece?
Thanks for your help with my questions.  Hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Bill Caterini (Wildwood, NJ)

Answer
No I don't know anything about it but what my guess would be is take it to a museum and have an expert there appraise it.  I would also call around to a few places, maybe like some antique shops or something to see if they can appraise it or know someone who can.  Sorry I can't help you and good luck!

Expertise

I can mainly answer questions about Vincent van Gogh. I`ve done plently of essays on his life and his works. I can try to help anyone that has a question about him.

Experience

I've been a fan of his since 1998, when I first saw Starry Night, it was like love at first sight. Like I said, I've done plently of essays and biographies on him, I could answer just about anything that anyone would need to know about him.
