Question
I am currently researching the subject of the seven deadly sins in art and need to source artists who have portrayed these in their work.  I am not specifically looking for works called the seven deadly sins, but those who have painted about glutony...or envy etc.

I am also interested to find out the history of the seven deadly sins in art.

Hopefully you can help.

Best wishes

Answer
Hi Ross,

Artists you might consider:

* Giotto's Last Judgment in the Arena Chapel, or anyone who dealt with dAnte's Inferno.

* Hieronymous Bosch is a great late Medieval/Renaissance example.

* Otto Dix is a great modern example.
