WHERE DID THE WORD "PAPER" COME  FROM?

I'm quite unsure what makes you feel word origin is an
"art history" question, but here's the answer:

Paper is Middle English, from Old French (papier), from Latin (paprus, papyrus plant, papyrus paper), from Greek (papros).
