Question
i know this is going to sound very strange, but i have no schooling in the arts, but i really want to know hte name of a particular sculpture. i'm not sure if it is greek, mythylogical,i have vulcan stuck in my head for some reason. the sculpture is of a a winged man hanging. and this is the strange part. he is hanging in the same manner in wich the policemand is hanging after he was killed in the movie "silence of the lambs" idesperately would like to know the name of this piece as to hopefully fimd a picture of it

Answer
I can't think of a winged man hanging -- it must be Icarus (he flew too close to the sun).

In my mind I picture a Winged Venus, a Hellenistic or Roman Marble -- and possibly a Constantin Brancusi (20th century bronze) -- but I think if you look around under Icarus + sculpture at http://www.google.com
you may come up with what you are picturing.
