Question
My teacher told me to write a two page research on the following:

Discuss importance of pointalism and its influence on one modern artist.

Can you please give me some ideas and clues on what to include on these two pages. I am very stuck.

this is How I began:
Pointillism is a form of painting in which the use of tiny primary-color dots is used to create secondary colors. I got stuck please help me this is my chance to graduate H.S.

Answer
George Seurat was the pointillist (it was too academic and time-consuming for most people; he had color formulas for what percentage of this color dot along with percentage of that color that he used).

You could try to make a sort of comparison to the dot-screen printing of comic books, later borrowed by Lichtenstein, enlarged, showing the even dots used in that printing method.

It grew right out of the Impressionist movement, as artists were looking at new ways of seeing.  Both Seurat and Monet (Rouen Cathedral paintings; haystack paintings) worked with the eye's ability to mix color on its way to the brain.  That is one thing typically impressionistic.

Go to the library to do your research.  On the internet, you need to know what you're looking for.  In the library, you have everything you need in one section and can browse and refine your understanding and ideas.
