Question
My uncle just handed over a paniting that I have been admiring for sometime now. He acutally gave it to me free but I want to make sure that its not a hidden rareity. I can not make out the signer but on the back of the frame it says
TITLE :  Apple Blossom TIme In Holland
ARTIST : 9769
Georgia ART SUPPLY COMPANY   Atlanta 3,GA
CAN YOU HELP ????

Answer
Hello Christy

Without seeing the painting it is impossible to know whether you have a valuable picture .. or just a family favourite!  The artist number could refer to a way the Georgia Art Supply Company catalogues its suppliers -- I wouldn't know.  If the painting is signed
someone should be able to tell you if it's a famous signature or not.  I could try and help you more with an image -- can you send a jpeg?  Is there a date anywhere on it?  I suspect it's probably not a rare artwork - and I think you'd be best advised to take it to a local dealer and ask for their opinion.  I am not in the business of giving valuations - I can only advise on art historical periods for painting, architecture and sculpture.

Good luck in your quest ....
