Question
I am interested in finding information on symbolism/iconography used in the paintings in the middle ages. IE. saints are often shown with some symbol to help the viewer identifi then, saint katherin with her wheel. also a small dog was used as a symbol of fidelity. If you could direct me to some sites or books or other source that might list/ discusse this "code" that would be most helpful.
