Question I'm looking for the name of a (probably) contemporary artist who painted a picture of round multi-colored (polka) dots that from up-close appear to be randomly placed, but when looked at from far away you see neat hypnotic-looking circles. I don't know how else to describe it. It looks like a computer printout, not a painting (it looks flat, the circles are exact, etc.). The background of the painting is white. In Martha Stewart Living magazine (from a few months ago), there is a photo of someone's living room and they have a print of that picture. I've lost the details from the magazine but I think I remember the artist begins with a "c." Thank you!
Answer Greetings Tally,
The only artist I can think of whose artwork fits the description is Larry Poons. Feel free to look him up online for examples of his paintings.
If it's not Larry Poons, please write again with more details and I'll take another shot. :-)
