Question
What were the main differences in Northern Ren Art as opposd to Ital Ren around 14-16th century.  What played a role in their differences?

Answer
Hi Suzanne, I dont really answer questions that sound like essay questions. And yours does...
But I will say that what you should do is look at the different social standings of the two areas. Then look at the art that they produced. I think that you will find a GREAT difference between the two. I can without a problem identify Northern Ren Painting because of its specific style and subject matter, which is a direct result of its society. Remember people paint what is familar, what is happening around them. This is a must to remember when looking at historical works of art.

Hope this helps
