Question
I have an oceanscape painting that was passed down to me.The author's name is difficult to read but it looks like H.A. Durssrl.  The location looks like england or ireland, not sure.  Do you have any ideas who this is or where the scene is?  Or can you direct me to someone who can?  Thank you.

Answer
Hello Rob - and thank you for your question.  Without seeing your oceanscape it is impossible for me to offer an opinion.  The artist's name doesn't ring a bell, and there is no indication of a date, title or other means of identification.  I think your best bet is to take your painting to a local fine art dealer who may be able to advise you.  I'm sorry I cannot be of more help, but I hope you enjoy your painting whether it is valuable or not.
Cheers
Jeni
