what do you mean you dont answer homework questions. all i wanted to know was the significance of van goghs starry night. i thought this was supposed to a forum. i ask the question you give me the answer. geez.

Here, Van gogh painted starry night because artist react to their surroundings, So he painted the landscape out his window. the technique/style that Van Gogh painted in shows the state of his mind. Compair a healthy van Gogh to and unhealthy one, His brushstrokes are controlled and uniform, compared to just before and while in the hospital his lines seem to have a life of their own. Just before he killed him self we can see the most uncontrolled brushstokes in his paintings
