Question
QUESTION: In my town there was a art school who closed because of lack of students.
I think students are more interested in computer graphics and arts as compare to traditional art. It seems to me that traditional skills are die out or is there any chance to survive them in I.T world.

ANSWER: I think there will always be tradition craftsmen around, besides they do not really teach anything too traditional at art schools which tend to be progressive.  Computer graphics certainly are the future in marketing but not so in the art world.  people still want to buy paintings.  Also, graphics courses are not taught at art schools, the two are separate.

QUESTION: Thanks but if you explain more about importance of traditional skill like art and craft , I will be thankful to you.
The school didn't taught computer course, it is actually closed because of absent of student becuase todays world students are interested in computer graphic instead of making painting or handy craft.

Answer
The truth is - I can't.  I'm not sure I want to get into the matter of if traditional crafts are of importance or not.  I work at a museum, and I frequently think about the loss of history and traditional knowledge and unfortunately I don't think the world will crumble if it gets lost.  It will be a shame for sure, but there will always be human pursuits of merit to fill in the gaps.

Sad but true.

Expertise

As a conservator my focus is on the preservation/care of art objects as opposed to their value. I may assist in the identification of materials used in art making and some of the techniques in traditional art production. Please do not ask me about non-traditional medias such as computer software used to create "modern art". My three areas of specialty are: -European painting and sculpture (1600-1800) -The artifacts and documents of United Empire Loyalist (1770-1850) -Classic Fishing tackle (1850-1960) anything outside these areas may receive vague answers that merely point you in a fruitful direction.

Experience

I am a practising conservator and curator

Education/Credentials
I have a Master's degree in Art Conservation
